A lot of life happens outside the home. That’s why we offer therapy in community settings to help children generalize skills to other environments. Our goal with community integration therapy is to increase a child’s comfort, confidence and independence in a variety of locations so the entire family can enjoy outings and activities. To do this, we use a sensory integration, language-based approach to decrease fear/anxiety and increase safety/independence. It’s all about helping children have more success in more places – going to the dentist, getting a haircut, eating in restaurants, shopping for groceries, attending church and more.
